Join CSRA in developing and deploying integrated Mission Command and Situational Awareness capabilities to the Army and Joint Forces in support of PM Mission Command.
CSRA has an opportunity for a Geospatial Engineer to support PM Mission Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The Geospatial Engineer will serve as a member of the Project Manager Mission Command team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. This position does have a travel requirement of up to 10% to CONUS locations.
Manage development efforts and provide technical support for geospatial software & components
Develop geospatial requirements packages, CONOPS & data flows
Review technical designs for geospatial components and advise the PM on potential technical issues with the designs
Lead as PM representative in engineering discussions relating to any technical issues or design concerns
Some travel to various sites to assist with development of geospatial components
Other duties as assigned
Required Candidate Qualifications:
Minimum SECRET clearance is required. Ability to keep a Secret clearance active.
Expertise in the following; 2525, open GL, KML
Knowledge of Web Map Services (WMS), Web Map Services – Tiled, Web Map Tile Service (WMTS), Tiled Map Service (TMS) & GeoPackage
BS in computer science, geography, or similar related field.
Experience with Geographic Data formats (ie. Geotiff, DTED, USGS DEM, DOQQ, LIDAR, ESRI shapefiles, MrSid) and software (ie. Leica Geosystems Erdas Imagine, ITT ENVI, ArcGIS, Globalmapper etc)
Understanding and experience with the import, conversion and management of raster/vector geographic datasets in varying formats/conventions and the related caveats
General understanding of map projections and related geographic concepts.
Desired experience with Mission Commands systems, Army’s use of geospatial tools & systems
