The USCG TISCOM TESS program provides critical services and support to meet the demands of the USCG mission. TISCOM responsibilities include providing reliable enterprise IT services and responsive technical support for Coast Guard men and women around the globe as it develops, deploys, and supports the information technology (IT) infrastructure for the USCG Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) (e.g., CGOne), Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet), and Top Secret (e.g., Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System [JWICS], Gold) networks for land, aviation, and sea based assets. Requirements include O&M of existing systems to engineering/deployment of new capabilities. USCG TISCOM is an environment that mixes physical and virtual technologies, utilizing a collaboration of many different vendors. TISCOM sets precedence for IT policies and procedures for the entire enterprise, supporting over 65,000 users in a Windows Active Directory architecture. The Active Directory / Exchange Engineer will plan, support, and implement the replication of the directory synchronization system for Microsoft Active Directory and Windows-based systems from production (CG MAIN) to the test environment (CGTest). The AD / Exchange Engineer will plan, support, and implement the replication of the MS Exchange configuration to CGTest from CG MAIN.
Replicate Production environment on the CGTest domain and own and modify as appropriate system configuration settings; establish best practices and maintenance standards for assigned systems.
Develop, test, communicate and execute enterprise wide migration from Exchange public folder use to alternate options.
Implement infrastructure, software and policy changes required to migrate government assets from onboard
Identify and investigation of hardware and software issues, performing root cause analysis, and implement an action plan for the resolution and dissemination of conclusions.
Function as a subject matter expert for architecture, performance tuning, capacity planning, and design of new and upcoming technologies related to the messaging and collaboration.
Proactively monitoring, reporting, and management of the Exchange environment on a day-to-day basis. Applying enhancements and/or fixes as necessary to maintain system performance and meet security standards.
Develops and updates system administration procedures and works closely with other IT resources including Exchange Engineers administrators, server administrators.
Utilizes analytical skills and knowledge of Microsoft technologies to ensure overall hardware and software technical support services for Active Directory, Outlook, Exchange and OCS for Business servers in a clustered (database availability group) environment.
Provides oversight for the disaster recovery plan and commences escalation procedures as needed.
Acts as subject-matter expert (SME) and provide after-hour support and on-call support as required.
Manage Service and Problem tickets within established SLAs.
Manages integration with DNS, WINS, and DHCP
Must be a US Citizen and possess an current SECRET clearance.
Must have at least the following Microsoft Environment experience:
9 or more years production Microsoft Exchange systems / server administration experience.
9 or more years of experience in an Active Directory environment.
5 or more years of experience on Microsoft authentication/authorization models and impact on performance, scalability, and security.
4 or more years software/hardware technical support experience in Microsoft Exchange 2007/201x environment.
4 or more years of Active Directory design and deployment with experience in multiple migration scenarios of Active Directory and Exchange 201x.
Must have 5 or more years of experience troubleshooting complex systems issues in a Microsoft infrastructure integrated with multi-vendor solutions.
Must have 3 or more years of experience with F5 Networks products or other email/network security appliances.
Must have 1 or more years of experience with Microsoft Office Communication Server.
Must have strong customer service skills with ability to speak, write, and understand English at post-graduate level.
Must be comfortable working in a collaborative team environment.
Must be a self-starter with ability to work independently and produce results, given general priorities.
Bachelor’s degree in information technology discipline or equivalent experience required.
Microsoft Certification on MS Exchange would be an added advantage. Examples are
