Job Description:

Join a team of senior software engineers responsible for maintaining an enterprise web-application for the U.S. Federal government. An ideal candidate will have a strong background in Drupal 7.X Content Management System (CMS) and custom Module programming. The ideal candidate should have experience with building large-scale web Portals or web-applications with Drupal. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and implementation of new features for a Drupal CMS solution comprised of over 300 Modules and a custom catalog module. The candidate will be responsible for supporting GeoLocation Mapping with ESRI GeoSpatial Technology, OpenLayers and Google Maps. Additionally, the candidate will support the programming of an existing custom Catalog module solution architected with Drupal Framework Architecture written in PHP & SQL. Strong SQL programming experience is desired. Also, candidate should be familiar with Organic Groups, Entities, Workflows, and Views APIs programming. The candidate will support the maintenance of the platform by updating and patching security vulnerabilities on the monthly basis, familiarity with Drupal Profiles is required. The candidate should have experience with LAMP Stack configuration in Linux based Operating System and GIT source control.

  • Develop application code to continuously improve the user experience, making it easier for user's to navigate the site, search for and find the information they need.

  • Create technical requirements to implement functional requirements.

  • Perform requirements analysis and identify missing or conflicting requirements.

  • Implement functionality, enhancements, and maintenance functions using various technologies such as Drupal, PHP, Java, Javascript, RedHat Linux, and MySql to code, and test the DHS public website solution.

  • Write development documentation in compliance with DHS SELC standards

  • Work to unify the user experience across the DHS public website and the corporate intranet

  • Use tools to track tasks, issues, and maintain version control.

  • Ensure code and scripts meet comply with business, security, legal, privacy and access (508) requirements.

  • Prepare for and participate in code reviews to ensure compliance with required user functionality and security requirements.

  • Develop Drupal CMS solution in compliance for the DHS Cloud infrastructure

  • Communicate progress and issues to appropriate team members in a timely manner.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BS or equivalent + 2 yrs related experience, or MS + 0 yrs experience
