Job Description:

CSRA is seeking a National Security Senior Analyst to provide planning and operations support for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff National Military Command System (NMCS) program office. This position is based at the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia in the National Military Command Center.

The National Security Analyst will work in a high paced, consulting environment advising and working with senior level colleagues on a multitude of NMCS and continuity policy, planning, training/exercises and operational issues. The successful candidate will conduct problem solving; write plans/operational procedures; support exercises, training, and real world operations; support staffing and coordination processes; maintain data, and systems to enable plan execution; operationalize plans and procedures; support outreach efforts on program matters. Candidate will be comfortable in using a program objectives and milestones approach to supporting customer in accomplishment of tasks to successful conclusion.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Write plans, procedures and other supporting material to document and support NMCS and continuity programs. Candidate will have analytical and plan writing experience, understanding of staffing/adjudication process, and be able to effectively represent client positions in meetings.

  • Design, manage, and maintain logistics and operational activities to support plans. Individual will have experience operationalizing plans and developing/maintaining procedures to ensure operations can be conducted.

  • Develop and conduct training and exercises. Support a multi-level training and exercise program to educate staff on their roles and responsibilities in executing plans. Individual will have experience in developing training materials and training individuals and groups. Individual will be familiar with exercise design and evaluation tasks.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree and nine years related experience

  • Recent military experience in a joint higher headquarters working joint policy/planning/operations matters.

  • TS/SCI

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong writing, planning, and communications skills.

  • A self-starter willing to develop an approach to a problem and follow through to task conclusion within timelines and with minimal oversight and guidance.

  • Interest in working within and between DoD component organizations to achieve the best solution to meet program needs.

  • Ability to function within a close knit team of interdisciplinary professionals in a collaborative fashion.

  • Ability to react to short suspense tasking within portfolio of work.

  • Recent Joint Staff/J-3 staff experience.

  • Understanding of the NMCS and its key elements, Joint Staff current operations environment, national military and nuclear C2.

  • Understanding of DoD and Joint Staff continuity programs.

  • Comfortable in using MS office products, Sharepoint, and program management software.
