Job Description:

Develops, inspects, mines, transforms, and models data to raise productivity, improve decision making, and gain competitive advantage. Conducts statistical analysis on data and information to ensure correct predictive forecasting or classification. Manages all aspects of end-to-end data processing utilizing customized report building functions of systems. Maintains analytical systems, verifies the accuracy of the data, and acts as liaison with business.

Required:

  • Superior skills conducting statistical and mathematical modeling and analysis using SAS

  • Superior skills using SQL for modeling and data manipulation purposes

  • Superior written and verbal skills. Must write succinctly and clearly and explain complex situations in plain English to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Experience developing and presenting solutions to complex, open-ended problems

  • Experience proactively identifying and working collaboratively with stakeholders to resolve data anomalies, data quality, and compliance issues in administrative dataSuperior customer service skills working proactively and collaboratively with Federal research, compliance, and policy staff and stakeholders to implement and enhance internal and external management reports and public-facing data analysis tools and data sets

  • Experience matching and merging disparate data sets using string/edit distance algorithms (Jaro-Winkler, Damerau-Levenshtein, etc.)

  • Experience using statistical algorithms, techniques and models to define data for data integrity and process analytics

  • Experience using multiple data mining tools including SAS, SPSS, R, Weka, etc

  • Superior multi-tasking and organization skills. Must manage multiple simultaneous projects and prioritize assignments and tasks accordingly, remaining flexible to changing priorities and new initiatives

  • Experience supporting data governance policies and supporting infrastructures spanning diverse stakeholders

  • Experience using manipulating and presenting data using MS Excel

  • Experience with MS Office

Desired:

  • Experience conducting trade studies and implementing business intelligence tools/solutions in collaboration with Federal customers and stakeholders

  • Knowledge of business intelligence, ETL, data analytics, and data warehouse COTS solution space

  • Experience using data visualization tools such as including Tableau

  • Experience conducting health care related research and analytics
