CSRA is seeking experienced Mid-Level IT Specialist / JAVA Software Engineer for our Social Security Administration (SSA) contract in Baltimore, Maryland. CSRA has a contract with SSA to provide various IT services such as development, validation, security, and infrastructure. We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our team supporting the SSA’s mission to “deliver social security services that meet the changing needs of the public”. Candidates must possess technical skills in software development/analysis/testing areas. He/she must possess superior oral and written communications skills in order to clearly and effectively convey issues, reports, and other deliverables to SSA counterparts.

Per position requirements, candidates must submit to a standard background check, which includes proof of US Citizenship or a green card. Candidates must be able to obtain Standard 85P Public Trust Suitability.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Participates in testing, troubleshooting and analysis on the development of systems

  • Provides support in the development, implementation and maintenance of test processes and diagnostic programs

Minimum Requirements

  • BS or equivalent + 3 years’ experience (Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics or related field preferred)

  • Experience working with JAVA and one or more of the following languages: JavaScript, Node.js, React.js, jQuery, HTML5, CSS, AJAX, Python, COBOL, VB Script

  • Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) environment using Cucumber\Gherkin Feature files and hands-on Step Definition files development with Selenium\JAVA

  • Experience in various phases of development including user story definition, software design, development, unit testing, source control, and deployment in Agile\DevOps environment

  • Experience of object-oriented programming, design patterns algorithms and principles

  • Ability to quickly learn and implement leading edge information technologies

Experience with several of the following tools and technologies:

  • Database: SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQLServer, MySQL

  • Software lifecycle management tools: VersionOne, HP ALM

  • Testing tools: Selenium, HP UFT, HP LeanFT, Cucumber, JUnit / NUnit, SoapUI / ReadyAPI

  • Infrastructure: Linux, Windows 7, Unix

  • Standards & protocols: XML, WSDL, JSON

  • Other technologies: Jenkins, Git, Grunt, Eclipse, Visual Studio

Desired Qualifications

  • Intermediate personal computer and business solutions software skills

  • Intermediate skills in gathering business\systems requirements and developing requirement artifacts

  • Intermediate analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs

  • Proficient database skills, such as SQL queries

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel, and clients

  • Ability to work as part of team and independently

  • Ability to deliver work products on schedule in a fast-paced environment
