Job Description:

This candidate will support a task order for a component of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) servicing more than 7,000 users. Our Federal law enforcement customer is responsible for the vital mission of protecting the security of our nation and its people. The candidate will help our customer achieve its mission amidst a fast-paced, high-demand environment by supporting the GOTS system.

The candidate maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers; sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space; interacts with users and evaluates vendor products; makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery. The candidate develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Support GOTS product for Android, iPhone and Windows as part of team of two

  • Maintain a Tier 2 system in a Linux Environment

  • Install new/rebuild existing web and database servers, which include configuration hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standard and project/operational requirements

  • Maintain a web and client app with a mobile user interface

  • Provide support to systems and application including: day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, log maintenance, password reset, monitoring, monitoring and analysis, systems patching, and problem solving/resolution for all of issues arising

  • Provide support for the dispatched problems and remain involved through resolution

  • Follow best practices to adhere to enterprise architecture

  • Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills

  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers

  • Self-starter; able to manage multiple tasks efficiently for on-time delivery

  • Self-motivated; proactive; a team player

  • Strong communication skills

  • Create and Maintain SOPs

Education & Experience:

BS or equivalent + 2 yrs related experience, or MS + 0 yrs experience
