Job Description:

CSRA is looking for a Network Security Engineer to support our federal client. As a member of the network security operations team supporting a large federal agency, the Network Security Engineer is primarily responsible for operations and maintenance of enterprise firewalls, as well as an integrated intrusion detection system, and the support of various security-related appliances. The team implements and enforces firewall rules using a standardized, controlled process. The Network Security Engineer also supports the team’s Senior Engineers and the Network Security Operations Manager with various daily tasks relating to planning and operations activities.

Additional duties of a network security engineer include, but are not limited to the following: assists in the design and implementation of new security solutions for the customer's enterprise cyber systems and networks, ensures system security needs are established and maintained for operations, assists in security requirements definition for new projects, provides security risk assessment services, performs or assists in the process of systems hardening, supports the enterprise incident response process, assists in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and implementation, and provides analytical support for security policy development and security analysis of new technologies. Assists with the integration of new architectural features into existing infrastructures, development and delivery of operations documentation, provides security engineering recommendations, and resolves integration and testing issues.

Experience operating and maintaining enterprise-class firewalls and/or intrusion detection/protection systems is required. Specific experience operating and maintaining Fortinet UTM devices is highly desired. Administrator experience with the Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) is also desirable.

Experience performing these activities in support of a federal government agency is highly desired.

CISSP or relevant network/security engineering certification(s) desired.

Requires ability to successfully pass a Public Trust suitability determination investigation. Preference will be made to individuals with a current or recent security clearance or Public Trust investigation.

Individual must be able to work on-site in the Research Triangle Park, NC.
