Job Description:

The CSRA Cyber Institute designs, develops, delivers and maintains readily accessible and available education, training and simulations to support the ever-evolving needs of cyberspace. CSRA’s training capability includes the integration and maintenance of a state-of-the-art virtual training platform (VTP) incorporating sophisticated records management, custom reporting, and formal/informal distance education delivery.

CSRA's Cyber Institute has an opportunity for a cyber subject matter expert (SME) who will thrive in a cyber training setting. The successful candidate will develop and maintain courseware, realistic training scenarios, and exercises. As a member of the training development team, the SME will develop student-focused learning exercises in a variety of virtualization environments with commonly used commercial and open-source tools.

The SME will research and develop technical instructions for a wide-ranging student audience, and will research relevant advanced persistent threat (APT) profiles for inclusion in exercises and assessments.

Essential Job Functions

Creating formal courseware and informal training that focuses on a variety of cyber topics including:

  • On-site incident response for network environments

  • Basic malware triage and/or malware analysis

  • Forensic analysis of digital information and gathering and handling evidence

  • Identifying network computer intrusion evidence and perpetrators

  • Investigating computer fraud or other electronic crimes, crack files and system passwords; detecting steganography and recovering deleted, fragmented and corrupted data from digital media of all types

  • Ensuring chain of custody and control procedures, documents procedures and findings in a manner suitable for courtroom presentation and preparing comprehensive written notes and reports

  • Risk Management Framework

Qualifications

  • BS or equivalent + 7 yrs related experience, or MS + 5 yrs related experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, cyber security, or equivalent education and experience.

  • Five or more years in information security, cyber network operations, or cyber defense.

  • Experience performing memory, file-system, network, and log analysis to determine relevant artifacts and indicators of compromise on large networks.

  • Strong skills implementing and configuring networks and network components.

  • Experience with Linux and Windows.

  • Ability to earn the following certifications: CompTIA CTT+, CompTIA Security+, and CASP.
