CSRA , an emerging leader in the background investigations industry, will support a large national background investigations (BI) program that provides investigative products and services to departments and agencies of the federal government. BIs are required to determine an individual’s suitability for employment with the federal government, eligibility for access to classified information, assignment to or retention in positions with sensitive duties, or other designated duties requiring such investigations. The investigations often involve personal and intimate details of an individual’s life and must be processed and conducted with tact and discretion. Information collected by the investigator as part of the BI is protected under the Privacy Act of 1974. The Office of Personnel Management, Federal Investigative Services (OPM-FIS) provides investigative products and services for over 100 Federal agencies to use as the basis for suitability and security clearance determinations as required by Executive Orders and other rules and regulations. OPM provides over 90% of the Government's background investigations, conducting over two million investigations a year. CSRA provides field investigative support to OPM's Field Investigative Support program in safeguarding the nation by conducting nationwide background investigations on behalf of OPM. The Security and Credentialing Administration position entails requesting credentials from the client, submitting new personnel for investigations, coordinating training with established training class dates, tracking and logging credentials, requesting credentials to be returned upon staff leaving the contract. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS The security and credentialing administration staff must have the ability to manage a large workload with a systematic approach towards onboarding new staff, off-boarding separating staff, tracking and logging of government furnished equipment, and strong communication skills. This position requires excellent time management skills and organization; ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously is a critical characteristic of this role. Experience with OPM is preferred. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Coordinate with HR, Training, and supervision for onboarding new staff 2. Submitting potential candidates to OPM for approval on contract 3. Requesting credentials from OPM 4. Logging and tracking credential chain of custody 5. Requesting credentials from staff exiting contract 6. Other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications - High school diploma or G.E.D. - Completion of a two year program in criminology, business administration or related field preferred - Two or more years of experience in security administration - Experience working with company security guidelines and/or policies - Experience working with facilities management - Experience working with mechanical and security systems - Experience working with compliance-related safety guidelines, laws and regulations and compliance programs, policies and procedures Other Qualifications - Must possess a current (within the last 2 years) Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or active Top Secret level security clearance - Communication skills to communicate with security and other company personnel and to document information - Interpersonal skills to communicate with company staff - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Ability to keep sensitive and confidential material private - Ability to handle multiple tasks and switch between tasks quickly
