Job Description:

CSRA is seeking an application developer to assist with the planning, design, creation, test, and documentation of user interfaces and automated configuration management tools. The successful applicant will be required to participate in all phases of the lifecycle development process and provide continued support and improvements for the developed platform.

Essential Functions

Codes, tests, debugs, documents and installs modified and new programs.

Uses coding methods for specific programming language to enhance or initiate efficient program execution and performance and to reach optimum hardware use.

Takes independent action to correct problems encountered during systems operations within authority level granted by the IT manager.

Maintains integrity of program logic and coding, and establishes required checks and balances for operational controls.

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of computer operating procedures and operating standards.

Assists in studying and analyzing data processing functions, methods and procedures, and makes recommendations concerning the feasibility of revising existing programs or adapting new applications to data processing operations that will more effectively use resources.

Produces documentation as required.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field (four years of additional experience may be substituted for well-qualified candidates)

2+ year of experience in an application developer role supporting a large organization using standard coding and development practices.

Knowledge of Object Oriented design and development and web technologies.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with relational databases, scripting languages and human/machine interface development

Experience with SQL, Java, JavaScript, .NET, C++, TCL, PHP, and Python.
