Job Summary:

CSRA is seeking a candidate to perform as a Test Engineer for the PDSS lab supporting the Close Combat Tactical Trainer and family of simulators. The candidate must perform as follows: Interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications. Identifies functional problems and suggests resolutions. Analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports. Primarily involved in the application of, or research into computer science methods and techniques to store, manipulate, transform or present information by means of computer systems. Perform a variety of complicated tasks, including but not limited to: (1) Provides technical expertise on specific products, operating systems and specialized environments; (2) Test software releases during the product development; (3) writes or assists in the development of test plans and test procedures; (3) Reports test results and enters problems and issues in to the problem reporting database; (4) Configures necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing. Develop formal test procedures. Participates in testing, troubleshooting and analysis on the development of systems. Provides support in the development, implementation and maintenance of test processes and diagnostic programs.

  • Develops solutions to technical problems of limited scope.Applies practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be obtained.May make recommendations for improving processes.

  • Contributes to completion of technical tasks. Failure to achieve results can normally be overcome without serious effect on schedules and programs.

  • Work is performed under general supervision. Work requires independently determining course of action but is reviewed for adequacy and accuracy.

  • Contacts are primarily with immediate work team and management. Occasional interaction with other sections or groups.


  • BS in related areaor equivalent +0 yrs experience

  • AS in related field and 2-4 years of experience

  • Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of computer science including computer system architecture and system software organization, theoretical models for the representation and transformation of information structures.

  • Knowledge of and skills in variety of computer programming languages.

  • Knowledge of current modeling and simulation principles, techniques and processes.

  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the testing field.
