The NTMPS/ADE Customer Service /Training Specialist will respond to NTMPS/ADE help desk calls, provide customers service, and develop/conduct training for internal and external customers. Provides program administrative support to include meeting arrangements, produce presentations/briefs, and minute dictation. Manages the customer support email account and answers/fields help desk calls to provide customer support regarding business intelligence (BI) tool access or data requirements. Develops and maintains local BI user guides and training tools to support customer’s needs. Provides customer support and training to users to access and manage their BI accounts, folders, and reports. Demonstrates high acumen for superb customer service with an astute attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
Customer-service oriented with a problem-solving attitude, Experience with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Power Point)
Understanding of Navy Manpower, Personnel, Training and Education (MPTE) processes and data sources,Experience with IBM Cognos, SAP Business Objects or other BI tools
Prefer a BS degree and three years of experience.
The Navy Training Management and Planning System (NTMPS) suite of applications provides users the tools needed to access Manpower, Personnel, Training, and Education (MPTE) data via standard or ad hoc reports. NTMPS is the umbrella term used to describe the Data Warehouse (DW)/Operational Data Store (ODS) and suite of applications and business solution tools. NTMPS supports management of Navy Total Force (NTF) assets and requirements analysis by senior and mid-level management personnel including the Naval Education and Training Command (NETC), US Fleet Forces Command (USFFC), NTF activities, and other Navy activities.
The Authoritative Data Environment (ADE) is a program that provides a single, integrated authoritative data source for Navy Manpower, Personnel, Training, and Education (MPTE) data that currently sits under the NTMPS umbrella. It provides the foundation for a reliable, accurate, and timely data set that is governed at an enterprise level and accessible to all authenticated data customers, and is the authoritative source of information for other applications and systems. The ADE is the enterprise source for all MPTE data and will facilitate the reduction of point-to-point interfaces and data sharing between MPTE transactional systems. It will provide technical capabilities in support of business intelligence (BI), data visualization, and data analytics and decision support (DA&DS) to a user community of interest comprised of Operations Analysts or equivalents.
