Job Description:

Currently, we are seeking a Junior Network Administrator in Scott AFB, IL . The selected candidate must have or be able to obtain government security clearance, per contract requirements (Clearance Level: Secret ).

Communications, Operations & Maintenance Function II (COM-F) provides operations and maintenance services in support of HQ AMC/A6 mission needs supporting the operational functionality and readiness of systems, infrastructure, and IT support services. Provides network administration services consisting of effective network/application provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This includes all related local areas and wide area networks or segments, data communications, and associated equipment, software, and applications. Is part of a 24/7/365 network administration team that monitors and supports the network processing activities to verify integrity and availability of all hardware, interfaces, server resources, systems, and key processes.

So what is required of a Junior Network Administrator on a day to day basis?

  • Tests, troubleshoots, installs, calibrates, repairs and modifies systems to ensure reliable functioning.

  • Maintains end-user computer systems, telephone equipment, and others as assigned.

  • Assists in procuring and tracking hardware and software. Provides technical training to the end-user community to ensure high quality customer service.

  • Performs internal installation, preventive maintenance, routine repair, and calibration of company's products and equipment.

  • Maintains end-user systems.

  • Follows developed operating procedures and maintains record of work within the help desk ticket system.

  • Acts as a liaison with the customer on routine technical and service problems to ensure that customer needs are met.

  • Assists in evaluating voice/data network architecture.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

  • Four or more years of technical support experience

  • Experience working with company products and operating systems

  • Experience working with computer-related technical problems

  • Experience working with company escalation policy

Other Qualifications:

  • Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members

  • Communication skills

  • Organization skills to balance and prioritize work

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills

  • Basic training skills

  • Willingness to travel

  • Firewall policy administration and troubleshooting experience required

  • packet analysis experience required

  • Network monitoring experience required

  • Experience with Air Mobility Command and Control Systems desired

  • TACLANE experience desired

  • General scripting training or experience desired

  • CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications required

  • Cisco CCNA certification desired
