Job Description:

CSRA, teaming with its alliance partners, provides the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) with cost-effective cloud, innovative, next-gen IT services; data center consolidation and cloud migration capabilities to drive its mission forward.

We are seeking a Sr. Security Engineer professional, with Cloud Security skills to support this effort.


  • Research/identify security controls and processes to ensure the integrity, availability, confidentiality, security, and performance of supported systems.

  • Support security scans to determine potential vulnerabilities, and take appropriate plan of action and milestones remediation actions including security updates/patches.

  • Build IA/security into the entire SDLC Agile process to ensure that security is part of shared teams, scans are built in, and security stories are part of development.

  • Designs and develops new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer's enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.

  • Ensures system security needs established and maintained for operations development, security requirements definition, security risk assessment, systems analysis, systems design, security test and evaluation, certification and accreditation, systems hardening, vulnerability testing and scanning, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning and provides analytical support for security policy development and analysis.

  • Integrates new architectural features into existing infrastructures, designs cyber security architectural artifacts, provides architectural analysis of cyber security features and relates existing system to future needs and trends, embeds advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration and testing issues.

  • May interface with external entities including law enforcement, intelligence and other government organizations and agencies.

Required Skills

  • BS or equivalent + 9 yrs related experience, or MS + 7 yrs related experience

  • Knowledge in FedRAMP templates, FISMA Standards, NIST 800-x publications, and security for PII data.

  • Cloud security experience

  • Platform as a Service experience

  • Experience in Agile process

  • Basic knowledgeable of NIST Special Publications related to the computer security community

  • In-Depth knowledge of NIST 800-53 rev 4 controls

  • Experience conducting cybersecurity audits to ensure appropriate implementation and NIST 800-53 rev 4 security compliance

  • Performing and providing vulnerability assessment results and recommendations

  • Assessing known systems vulnerabilities and verifying system hardening and patching activities to ensure compliance with applicable Security Requirements and related checklists

  • Experience with network and system security administration, including operating system security configuration and account management best practices for Operating Systems (virtual)

  • Familiar with Jira, GitHub, and Ansible Tower
