GDIT supports the United States Coast Guard (USCG) TISCOM - TESS program which provides critical services and support to meet the demands of the USCG mission. TISCOM – TESS responsibilities include providing reliable enterprise IT services and responsive technical support for Coast Guard men and women around the globe as it develops, deploys, and supports the information technology (IT) infrastructure for the USCG networks for land, aviation, and sea based assets. Requirements include O&M of existing systems to engineering/deployment of new capabilities.

GDIT’s TISCOM – TESS program is an environment that mixes physical and virtual technologies, utilizing a collaboration of many different vendors. TISCOM – TESS sets precedence for IT policies and procedures for the entire enterprise, supporting over 65,000 users in a Windows Active Directory architecture. Currently, we are seeking an Exchange and Mobility Systems Administrator in Alexandria, VA. The selected candidate must hold a current government security clearance, per contract requirements (Clearance Level: Secret ).


The Administrator will serve as a technical resource responsible for the following:

  • Utilizing the device management application platforms to provision, deploy, manage, and support devices.

  • Serve as a technical resource responsible for supporting all department devices to include deploying applications and applying configurations to align with all security standards and device configuration standards.

  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to MS exchange servers

  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 and Lync and Skype for Business

  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to Blackberry UEM.

  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to AirWatch.

  • Respond to and resolve incident tickets for Exchange and Mobile device issues

  • Provide after-hour support and on-call support as required.

To qualify, you must meet these basic qualifications:

  • BA or equivalent + 5 years related experience, or MA + 3 years related experience

  • COMPTIA Security + 5+ years’ of experience with production Exchange 2010 Windows (2008 or higher) systems or server administration experience.

  • 5+ years’ of experience software/hardware technical support experience in Microsoft Exchange 2007/201x environment.

  • 5+ years’ experience with leveraging mobile device management (MDM) platform to securely deliver updates and applications to mobile devices.

  • 5+ years’ experience in using the MDM solution to provide reports on device statistics, perform device audits, and inventory

  • 5+ years’ experience with enterprise-scale OTA deployment of mobile devices

  • 5+ years’ experience in mobile device troubleshooting methods - both client and server-side

  • 5+ years’ experience with Android, OS and iOS and Good for Enterprise (GFE).

  • Knowledge of DNS, WINS, and DHCP

  • Knowledge of enterprise-level mobile device management application

  • Familiarity with Active Directory design and deployment experience in various migration scenarios of Active Directory and Exchange 201x.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Experience with Blackberry UEM

  • Experience with HP storage array systems

  • Experience using enterprise level ticket routing system (Remedy preferred)

  • Good Microsoft Office skills

Other qualifications include:

  • Detail-oriented and able to organize information

  • Strong customer service and oral/written communication skills required.

  • Ability to work independently and produce results, given general priorities, required.
