The primary responsibility of this role is to drive the development and maturity of change and problem management based on industry and ITIL best practices.
The JSP Change Manager will be responsible to ensure that new or upgraded IT systems in the production infrastructure are delivered with desired business outcomes and with minimal disruption to IT/Application services. The JSP Change Manager will partner with support teams and guide them through the required steps to implement changes to the production infrastructure. This position will attend the change advisory board (CAB) meetings. The JSP Change Manager will help to drive the change management processes, and recommend and implement the framework to support these processes. This includes process development, implementation, documentation, and training.
The main duties of the Change Manager/Configuration Manager are listed below:
Ensure all planned changes are properly represented with informative and detailed Request For Change tickets (RFC) and ensures adherence to the change management process
Assist with risk and impact assessment prior to implementation to ensure the business is not affected by inadequately planned changes
Allocates a priority to all requests for changes
Attends and participates in CAB meetings
Issues change schedules and liaises with all necessary parties to coordinate change building, testing and implementation, in accordance with schedules
Reviews all implemented changes to ensure that they have met their objectives; refers back any that have been backed out or have failed and analyses change records to determine any trends
Produces regular management reports
Act as local point of contact for the escalation of change management inquiries and issues
Provide input to Service Owners regarding Continuous Improvement opportunities
Provide leadership, direction, guidance and ensure overall compliance with the entire Change Management lifecycle
Tracks and ensures preventive actions and ongoing trend analysis of incidents.
Assists auditors to audit the activities of Change and Configuration Management for compliance with policy, standards, and procedures.
Develop and track KPI’s and other reports specific to the Change Management process.
Design, implement and manage the Change Management process including creating and updating all Change Management documentation
Coordinate and drive all activities during the problem life-cycle from after action reviews, throughout RCA development, problem ticket/task updates, throughout the PM ticket closure to prevent issues from reoccurrence
Governance to ensure that technology teams are following change management processes
Knowledge & Experience:
Background in the delivery of ITIL transition processes
Proven record of ITIL process adoption within a large organization
Proficiency with Service Now or other similar toolsets for ITSM processes
ITSM process design, governance and delivery.
Experience of managing processes and activities within an organisation to ensure compliance with a set of policies and standards and working with cross functional teams to achieve this.
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and networking concepts
Solid understanding of development processes, tools, and methodologies
Hands-on knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and best practices a big plus
SECRET level security clearance
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience; related computing field preferred
5+ years of technical experience
Knowledge of IT processes, general controls and project management and system development life cycles
ITIL Foundation Level certification required
ITIL Service Manager, Operations or Transition Certification required
Excellent customer service skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills required to interact with end user clients and team members across the organization
Good organization skills to balance and prioritize work
Ability to work independently and as a team player
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong work ethic with the ability to complete tasks and deliverables under tight deadlines while maintaining flexibility
Ability to proficiently facilitate meetings and conduct briefings
Recognize and respond to customer requests with a sense of urgency
Accuracy and attention to detail, decisiveness and discernment
Excellent analytical and trend analysis skills
Experience leading, facilitating and coordinating activities/engagements of Change Control Boards (CCB), Change Advisory Boards (CAB) and other change management governance boards.
Experience identifying inefficient change management practices and developing best practice solution
