The Project supports a major federal customer providing security services including cyber incident response, threat analysis and security operations support.
The Infrastructure and Platform Support Technical Lead will possess intimate knowledge and a proven record of success with various technologies, leveraging broad expertise with technical leadership in the areas of Data Center Hosting, Infrastructure Services & Support, Data Center Management, and/or Network Engineering.
Some high-level responsibilities include:
Working within a team and leading efforts in infrastructure and data center management. Services managed include: network engineering, storage, hypervisor / virtualization technology, database, and application hosting services
Operating, maintaining, and sustaining engineering of infrastructure services, data center subsystems, and associated hosting systems
Design, procurement, and installation of new cabling, equipment, and associated hardware and software to extend and/or enhance existing hosted and infrastructure services.
Coordinate change management, configuration control, and quality assurance process on matters associated with data center and hosted infrastructure services
Determine and manage data center requirements including space allocation, assessment of power, and environmental controls (heat load)
Support program with new project integrations in the areas relevant to hosted infrastructure services; application bandwidth impact assessments, network access, security feeds, provisioning of standardized operating systems templates, allocation of storage, space, and environment and HVAC impact assessments
Plan, engineer, integrate, and implement new capabilities and features supporting the optimization and standardization of hosted infrastructure capabilities and processes.
Displayed initiative, an ability to lead others, and develop and mature an Infrastructure and Applications Support team
Leveraging business knowledge and interpersonal abilities to build and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, and project leadership
Coordinate with customers to identify project priorities. Provide customers with brief on project and task status, timelines, assigned resources, and identified risks/concerns.
Coordinate with Application Support SMEs to report on hosted application functionality, capacity, and trending metrics.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated intimate abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas;
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
Six (6) years in Government product lifecycle management experience, specifically in the sustainment of IT systems within the fields of Infrastructure and Hosted services, configuration management, and operations and maintenance
Experience managing and mentoring staff, and overseeing vendors to work towards project goals.
Experience with system development life cycle and project management framework
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and apply robust analytic thinking to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues
Experience supporting architectural design, development, and implementation of hosted application solutions
Experience with implementation of technical IT, configuration, and security standards. Experience with configuration and baseline identified, change controls, configuration status reporting, and supporting configuration audits.
Candidate should have a minimum of 6 years working knowledge and experience with the following Operating Systems – Windows Server 2012, 2016, VMware eSXi 6.0/6.5, Red Had 6/7
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Expert knowledge of network and systems engineering concepts
Years of experience
- 6+ years in IT within the fields of infrastructure and hosted services, configuration management, information security, systems integration, or engineering field
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
Preferred but not absolutely required:
CCNP Data Center
Security+ Network+ Linux+ ITIL Foundation
Nice to have:
Experience working in AWS is a plus
