Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer / Administrator to join our System Engineering team in support of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of the Director IT Support Services. On this program, we provide support for 2,700 end-customers residing in approximately 20 buildings. You will work with the Lead BigFix engineer to support, improve and optimize the BigFix environment.

Our team focuses on maintaining excellent customer experience as it relates to service requests and maintains and improves interoperability between IT infrastructure systems.


  • Big Fix administration, including creating software packages and patching

  • Improve Asset Tracking and management abilities

  • Enhance BigFix capabilities to support customer needs

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • BS or equivalent + 5 yrs related experience, or MS + 3 yrs related experience

  • Five years experience in BigFix administration and management of assets/clients

  • Experience setting up BigFix Environment

  • Experience as a BigFix engineer in an environment with 1000+ users

  • Windows Upgrades/Migration experience

  • Laptop/Desktop Imaging experience

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • SME expertise with BigFix

  • Experience optimizing BigFix environments and optimizing toolset


  • Position requires On-site presence for a full-day between the hours of 7Am and 6pm in Bethesda, MD on the NIH Campus.

  • Parking is free and metro accessible.

  • Minimal telework allowed (emergency purposes only)

  • Must be able to obtain NIH Public Trust, Level 6 clearance
