CSRA is in search of a Cloud System Engineer that serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in virtualization technologies as it relates to cloud migration to support the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) milCloud 2.0 program.

The DISA milCloud® 2.0 platform, powered by CSRA, is transforming the way DoD and DISA Mission Partners manage their IT solutions by offering a FedRAMP High Impact Level 5 and 6 platform for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) with 99.9% service availability, active-active replication COOP/DR in an on-premises environment within the DoDIN. The Cloud System Engineer will be an integral member of the CSRA milCloud® 2.0 Transition and Professional services team acting as a Virtualization SME assisting DISA and DoD Mission Partners in migrating and re-hosting applications to the milCloud® 2.0 environment.

Job Description:

  • Provides professional services support for customers migrating to milCloud® 2.0 with subject matter expertise (SME) in virtualization technologies, such as KVM and Hyper-V.

  • Collaborates across internal teams and works with customers to assess and evaluate virtualization configurations, best practices, and recommended technical approaches.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and configure migrated VM’s

  • Proficiency in implementing and sustaining KVM-based VM’s on large-scale deployments

  • Evaluates application workloads migrated to milCloud 2.0® to ensure performance and system requirements are met.

Position Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge in virtualization technologies (i.e. KVM, Hyper-V)

  • Hands-on proficiency in VM installation and configuration for large-scale cloud environments

  • Experience with best practices associated with migrating and configuring VM’s across geographically distributed cloud-based architecture.

  • Strong debugging and systems analysis skills able to identify and quickly resolve virtualization issues associated with cloud migration

  • Strong background and understanding of application architectures, networking security, reliability, resiliency, and scaling concepts

  • Deep knowledge of security standards such as FedRAMP, FISMA and SRG

  • Strong networking knowledge

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent

  • DoD Secret Clearance

  • CompTIA Security+ (or related security certification)
