The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation [FDIC] mission is to preserve and promote public confidence in the U.S. financial systems by insuring deposits in banks and thrift institutions for up to $250,000; by identifying, monitoring, and addressing risks to the deposit insurance funds; and by limiting the effect on the account and the financial system when a bank or thrift institution fails. CSRA provides the day-to-day operational services to FDIC in support of infrastructure, facilities, hardware, software, and systems. CSRA supports operational security, client support/help desk, data center operations, asset management, and systems engineering service areas. The FDIC Enterprise network provides its engineers with access to a plethora of cutting-edge technologies in the network field. It has a state of the art development lab to test new functionality, architectures, and equipment. Engineers are tasked with developing and deploying innovative solutions to meet business requirements - not managing day to day, same technology operations.

CSRA seeks a VMware ­­­­­­­­­­ Engineer for the FDIC Infrastructure team. U.S. Citizenship and background investigation is required; you must have a current clean financial background. (Though the position is 8-5 M-F, the role requires flexibility to support issues or planned activities after hours, weekends and holidays as needed.) Successful candidate must possess and be able to demonstrate technical skills and engineering attitude for success, dedication and commitment.

Task and responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following:

Successful candidate needs to be able to design and engineer complex requirements to existing customer infrastructure in a cost effective manner. Candidate needs to be a subject matter expert and be able to articulate expertly solutions through written or verbal methods. Be able to trouble shoot complex problems quickly and effectively. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. - Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. - Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. - Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

To qualify, you must meet these basic qualifications:

Nine or more years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, operating systems programming. - Experience working with specific software and/or hardware systems with a specific concentration in one or more areas - Experience working with design principles and Windows Server applications - Advanced knowledge of: - Active Directory,Windows Account access and controls, Service account setup and configuration, Security controls, and migration of systems to a more secure baseline. - VMware 5.0 and 6.0 – Proficient with Design / Deployment / Management of VMware Products to include vSphere, VCenter, VROPS, VCAC, VRA, VCO and NSX - Windows – Proficient with Windows OS, Active Directory domains, SQL Server administration, IIS - Server Hardware – Proficient with HP hardware to include Rack servers, Blade servers, ILO’s, OA’s and Virtual Connects. - HP Blade server c7000, HP Oneview 1.0 and HP Oneview 2.0. - Enterprise Infrastructure – Have in depth knowledge of networks / firewalls / SANs in regards to supporting virtual and physical server infrastructure - Troubleshooting – Proficient at systematic analysis to diagnose and trace data flow to determine cause and effect of issues. - Strong Communications, Problem Solving, Leadership and analytical skills - Able to assess and solve issues in a high-pressure environment. - Strong organizational skills; Must be able to multitask without sacrificing attention to details. - Able to work effectively with other groups and teams. - Must be able to come up to speed on new project areas quickly as this role will grow quickly -

It would be great if you also had:

A BS or equivalent + 5 yrs related experience, or MS + 3 yrs related experience- Bachelor's degree in engineering, systems engineering, physics, computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred

Current certifications in any : VCP5 - Security+ - MCSE - WIN 2008/2012
