Are you looking for a software development job where you will help improve the United States' national security? Do have C# experience or are willing to learn?

We seek a full stack software developer in Falls Church, VA, to support all custom software development and maintenance for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)'s Priority Telecommunications Services (PTS) program. PTS, run by the Office of Emergency Communications (OEC), serves the National Security and Emergency Preparedness (NS/EP) community by providing priority voice, video and data communications to the NS/EP community in times when the public telecommunications networks are experiencing stress due to natural or man-made disasters. The OEC’s PTS mission is to ensure NS/EP users have a high likelihood of successful communications when public telecommunications networks are experiencing congestion of up to 25 times their normal load.

If chosen for this position, you will become a critical member of GDIT's software development team and work on the design, development, testing and maintenance of the program's custom software applications. We are a twelve-person team looking to expand to handle an influx of new work. GDIT is the prime contractor for the PTS program and provides engineering, operations, and software support to the program.

Essential Job Functions

  • Support all PTS software applications

  • Work on all the phases of the software development process

  • Develop code using Agile principles

  • Collaborate with team members to implement improvements to existing applications or new applications

  • Conduct design and code review to ensure compliance with standards

  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team on resolving issues reported by customers

  • Estimate level of effort to develop code to meet requirements

  • Write and maintain developer documentation

Qualifications

Job Specific Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of experience with Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and higher and C#.NET. Experience with ASP.NET Web Forms, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or higher (including database relationships; data normalization; and writing stored procedures, functions, and triggers)

  • Ability to independently analyze, understands, fix, and modify existing software code

  • Experience in debugging and testing software applications

  • Communicate with management regarding status of software development and problem solving efforts

Desired but not required

  • Experience with AngularJS and Node.js

  • Experience developing mobile applications using Swift for iPhone

  • Experience with development tools from Microsoft such as Visual Studio and MSTest

  • Experience with Javascript/NodeJS build tools such as npm, bower and grunt

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a DHS EOD clearance
