Essential Job Functions:
Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems to include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering; changes.
Typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits.
Exercise independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment.
Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
May provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.
Maintains a safe work environment. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher level technician, and work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
Uses reference documentation and technical manuals. Interprets charts, tables, diagrams and schematics to effectively maintain, test, troubleshoot, fault isolate and repair electronic, electrical and mechanical subassemblies including but not limited to computers, monitors, printers, power supplies, amplifiers, printed circuit boards, motors, cables and various network subassemblies to maintain and repair Engagement Skills Trainers, Gunnery, Maintenance, Drivers, and roll over trainers.
Uses and maintains multimeters, trackers/analyzers such as Huntron, oscilloscopes, signal generators, IC programmers and various hand tools in the course of testing, troubleshooting and repairing subassemblies and printed circuit boards. Conducts soldering/de-soldering operations for multi-layer, through hole and surface mount applications.
Document all maintenance actions through database entries.
Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university and five years minimum work experience in a related discipline or five years related military training or a combination of education and experience.
Five years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer systems / networking, and simulation platform maintenance.
Three years’ experience with Microsoft Office software operation and use.
Must possess good written composition and verbal communication skills, ability to express facts and rationale.
Must be able to obtain/maintain an active/valid US security clearance if required.
Quality assurance/equipment condition analysis experience desired.
Hydraulic systems theory and operations experience desired.
Experience with generator maintenance.
Able to stoop, bend, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to interpret wiring diagram and schematics.Work Environment:
Varies depending on site
This position requires weekly travel within the designated area of operation (need to define the area of operation). Travel is usually no more than a week.
Must be able to travel to various locations.
