Job Description:

WarFighter FOCUS is the U.S. Army’s largest training services contract. It provides integrated worldwide Live, Virtual, and Constructive maintenance, operations, and sustainment of training systems.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Establishes and implements system policy, procedures and standards, and ensures conformance with information systems goals and procedures ensuring that security procedures are implemented and enforced.

  • Maintain mini system or mainframe systems.

  • Responsible for the operational integrity of all Home Station Instrumentation Training System (HITS) network servers, network systems, user vests, antenna and node setup.

  • Ensure after action review systems and components are properly configured and available to conduct Live Training in accordance with the range design criteria.

  • Perform corrective and preventative maintenance as required on HITS components.

  • Perform all checks, services, troubleshooting and maintenance actions to ensure the operational status of the HITS system and components.

  • Train new employees in the operations, troubleshooting and repair of the HITS system components.

  • Performs analyses of voice/data network needs and contributes to the architectural designs, integration and installations to ensure effective customer network architectures.

  • Assists in evaluating, testing and documenting current network technology baselines for both hardware and software to determine networking needs.

  • Assists in developing technical standards and interface applications. Evaluates new products to create and maintain optimal network solutions. Investigates and resolves matters of significance.

  • Serves as a technical resource across functional teams to ensure consistent knowledge of basic network architectures.

  • Reports and monitors system utilization and associated costs to guide short term information technology investment decisions as related to voice/data network solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics or related field preferred

  • Two or more years of experience in voice or data networks

  • Experience working with network systems and networking principles and practices

  • Experience working with networking software and hardware

  • Experience working with proprietary software and hardware

Other Qualifications:

  • 4 years with a B.S. / B.A. or 6 years experience with an Associate's Degree.

  • Candidate must be equally adept at identifying correcting hardware and network malfunctions within the HITS network.

  • Must have vast experience in teaching students (soldiers/civilians) in a classroom environment.

  • Military experience is preferred, but not required.

  • Sanctioned Instructor Trainer Course, certified teacher, military or civilian preferred, but not

  • required.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are required.

  • Must be highly adaptable to rapid changes in the work environment when training (e.g. Special Operations Soldiers).

  • Positive attitude and eagerness to train soldiers is a must.

  • Must be able to take new employees and coach, teach, and mentor them on the aspects of the job, ensuring the employee’s success.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with military leadership, Range Control Managers, range peers, fellow employees and outside personnel on a regular basis.

  • Must be able to understand the customer's needs and translate that into accurate and effective training modules to be presented back to the customer in a rapid timeframe.

  • Contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects.

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain an active/valid US security clearance if required.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Environment:

  • Various types of locations (indoor and outdoor).

  • Must be able to travel to various locations.
