Job Description:

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Cloud Consultant to join the Department of Navy cloud program. We are looking for someone quickly assess and accelerate Navy’s cloud adoption, migration, and operations in both public and private hybrid cloud environments driven by customer issued task order. The successful candidate will be flexible and be able to manage multiple engagements at the same time. This individual will be able to work independently and directly with the customer.

Required Qualifications:

  • Cloud Certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

  • 10+ years’ experience with hands-on systems and network engineering in large managed service provider or enterprise environment.

  • 10+ years’ experience in both Linux and Windows operating systems.

  • 5+ years’ experience with cloud migrations, integration, and transformation to Commercial Cloud Service Providers such as AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.

  • 5+ years’ experience engaging directly with the customer or similar consulting experience

  • 5+ years’ experience developing technical documentation deliverables to customers.

  • 2+ years’ experience with project management methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.

  • 2+ years’ experience with database architectures such as SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.

  • 2+ years’ experience with commercially available hybrid cloud management tools.

  • Ability to evaluate legacy applications and determine level of effort and feasibility to migrate to cloud.

  • Deep understanding of secure system configuration and security principles in a hybrid, multi-cloud environment.

  • Ability to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment.

  • Deep analytical skills and problem solving abilities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work scheduled off-hours work and support on-call rotation as required.

  • BS Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent experience.

  • US Citizenship.

  • Secret Clearance Preferred. Ability to obtain a Secret required.

  • Some travel may be required.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience in federal government engagements and solutions

  • Experience in transitioning and transforming into a DevOps culture

  • Experience building or maintaining full-stack applications and/or infrastructure
