Job Description:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, telecommunication, and navigational aids), personal and main frame computers/ and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices.)

  • Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

  • Applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents.

  • Familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and review for compliance with accepted practices.

  • May provide technical guidance and/or supervision to lower level technicians.

  • Obtains technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician.

  • Present hardware, software, and or subsystems problems to design and support engineering teams. Troubleshoots, updates, and configures Linux and Windows based operating systems during replacement and re-configuration of system computers network systems.

  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electronic/electromechanical equipment and systems, subsystems, local area networks and peripheral workstations.

  • Utilize common and special purpose test equipment to isolate malfunctions and preformed repair actions.

  • Performs circuit equipment repair and modifications.

  • May be required to perform repairs on pneudraulic, hydraulic, and HVAC equipment.

  • Uses reference documentation and interprets charts, tables, diagrams and schematics to effectively maintain, test, trouble-shoot, fault isolate and repair electronic, electrical and mechanical subassemblies including but not limited to computers, monitors, printers, power supplies, amplifiers, printed circuit boards, motors, cables and various network subassemblies to maintain and repair EST2000 components and systems.

  • Must be able to determine work schedule and establish priorities for all the locations and devices maintained in area of operation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university and three years minimum work experience in a related discipline or three years related military training or a combination of education and experience.

  • Three years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer systems / network or training device maintenance.

  • Three years’ experience with Microsoft office software operation and use.

  • Must possess good written composition and verbal communication skills, ability to express facts and rationale.

  • Ability to interpret wiring diagram and schematics.

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain an active/valid US security clearance if required.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Varies depending on site

  • This position requires weekly travel within the designated area of operation. Travel is usually no more than a week.
