Job Description

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is an independent agency that regulates the interstate transmission of electricity, natural gas, and oil. FERC also reviews proposals to build liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals and interstate natural gas pipelines as well as licensing hydropower projects. GDIT provides comprehensive IT support services to FERC including IT operations, information security, systems engineering, and IT planning services. The GDIT team supporting FERC has a position opening for an Enterprise Architecture Analyst to maintain and develop the Troux-based FERC Enterprise Architecture Management System (FEAMS). The EA Analyst will help streamline and mature the agency’s Troux EA repository and EA program by developing automated data update solutions and extending the EA models, views, and reports to better support the IT planning and decision making activities of the customer agency.

In addition to managing and evolving the Troux EA repository, this mid-to-senior position will provide EA and business analysis support to help FERC achieve its goal to utilize the EA to drive business value and cost-reduction across the FERC’s IT investment. The well qualified candidate will possess hands on experience working with Troux enterprise architecture products and modules or comparable products, strong technical background to include experience in relational databases and SQL, solid analysis skills and attention to detail, and a customer service orientation.


o Develop and extend models and capabilities of the Troux EA repository to better support agency IT planning and decision making

o Update the Troux-based EA repository and models to reflect approved IT change requests

o Perform quarterly audit of existing EA information

o Generate standard quarterly reports and ad hoc reports from the EA repository

o Develop and maintain an enterprise database inventory

o Maintain and update various EA artifacts including application and infrastructure architecture graphics

o Support the workings of the Enterprise Architecture Working Group (EAWG)

o Map business processes and derive business requirements in support of proposed IT initiatives

Mandatory Qualifications:

o BA or BS, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related Science degree

o Strong technical background

o Strong analytical skills

o Relational database experience using SQL

o Detail oriented

o Strong customer service orientation

Desirable Qualifications:

o Hands on experience developing and maintaining EA repositories using the Troux suite of products or comparable enterprise architecture tools (e.g., IBM Systems Architect)

o Understanding of Enterprise Architecture concepts

o Process modeling and business analysis experience
