The SEC ISS program is a comprehensive IT program charged with operating, managing, and advancing the SEC’s IT infrastructure. Our dynamic program team of IT leaders and large and small business partners is seeking bright, energetic and talented individuals to join us as we bring our innovative IT Service Delivery solutions to SEC. Currently; we are seeking an Enterprise Operations Center Engineer in Washington, DC. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Public Trust Suitability clearance, per contract requirements.
Candidates must have a high level of attention to detail, be able to think independently, and be able to communicate effectively (written and spoken).
The EOC Engineer will be the shift lead, ensuring all NOC duties are performed in a timely manner. The EOC Engineer will analyze alerts from the monitoring tools, decide if the alert warrants immediate escalation or not (evaluate impact and urgency) and escalate appropriately in a timely fashion.
The EOC engineer will serve as a change agent making recommendations as part of our continual service improvement program. Initially, each EOC Engineer will receive training on 1st shift to gain familiarity and exposure to the SEC environment, infrastructure, tools, and meet staff before moving onto their actual shift.
Task and responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following:
Evaluating Alerts for Impact and Urgency
Reviewing Log files, Tickets and other sources to identify Incident Trends, then create a ticket for the Subject Matter Expert to resolve their root cause
Creating SOPs for other EOC Engineers
Ensuring the EOC Specialists are performing their tasks in a timely manner
Performing EOC Specialist’s duties when necessary (Sending Alerts, Starting Bridges, Documenting time lines, facilitating meetings, etc.)
Dealing with multiple simultaneous high priority issues (Bridges, Alerts, Alarms, phone calls)

To qualify, you must meet these basic qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years related experience providing support to an enterprise operations center (or NOC), monitoring and managing enterprise systems and networks using advanced technologies and tools.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Systems Administrator or Network Administrator or Network Engineer or NOC Engineer.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience troubleshooting and resolving incidents (break fix)
Shift: Alternating Wed (9 hr) + Thurs - Sat 7 pm - 8 am (13 hr)(Wed 7am to 4pm) those include lunch breaks.
Minimum 3 years’ experience using Monitoring tools
Minimum 3 years’ using Ticketing systems such as Service Now, Remedy, HP Service Manager
It would be great if you also had:
ITIL Certification (v3)
Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and Word)
Experience writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
