Job Description:

GDIT is looking for a Systems Engineer to support a project of upgrading 1800+ devices from Windows 7 to Windows 10 operating system. The position is in support of GDIT’s contract with the Administrative Office of United States Courts – Administrative Office Technology Office (AOUSC-AOTO) in Washington DC. The selected candidate will manage the patch management process and IOS endpoints for AOTO.


  • Compiles/maintains list of vendor released patches.

  • Maintains record of patches applied to assets.

  • Determines what needs to be patched and validates full deployment of patches

  • Engages with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that need to be involved in patch decisions as required.

  • Coordinates and monitors the release of patches.

  • Communicates patch impacts to IT Operation and end users.

  • Works with Information Security to recommend continuous improvements.

  • Represents IT or assists IT SMEs during internal and external audits.

  • Develops and maintains a standard MacOS image for endpoints.

  • Packages and deploys images to MacOS devices.

  • Administers existing MDM AirWatch production environment focused on IOS devices.

  • Troubleshoots/deploys Windows desktops – Win 7 and Win 10.

  • Provides surge support for Tier-1 help desk.


  • 8+ years of progressive IT experience.

  • 4+ years supporting Windows servers and desktops.

  • 2+ years supporting IOS endpoints.

  • 1+ year solid experience working with a patch management tool (K1000, BigFix, etc.)

  • Experience working with Active Directory

  • Strong communication skills / customer service skills

  • Experience documenting processes and creating work instructions

  • Experience working as a part of a large team and working directly with customers.
