We are currently seeking a mid to senior level SharePoint Administrator to support our VA IT Help Desk Contract.

Responsibilities:

Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of SharePoint database. Conducts performance tuning of indexes, optimization of storage functionality, and databases in general. Reviews SharePoint database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. Maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. May work with vendors.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or equivalent combination of education and experience, + 5 or more years of experience

  • Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, upgrading and managing a SharePoint Server .

  • Experience with the creation of a Content Database (DB), maintaining of the DB.

  • Experience assigning of proper permission levels for all users of the site as well as configuring anonymous access if required.

  • Experience configuring timer jobs depending on business requirements. Knowledge of Timer jobs . One of the timer jobs is to back-up the sites, which gives the ability to restore the site to its previous version if error occurs.

  • Knowledge of applying PowerShell scripts.

  • Experience/Ability to train and support the business users in their day to day involvement in SharePoint sites. For instance uploading a document, starting an approval workflow etc.

  • Strong understanding of what can be done using Out Of Box (OOB) features in SharePoint .

Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Windows networking and authentication.

  • Knowledge of monitoring of disk space, backups and other repetitive tasks that is handled by operational staff.

  • Knowledge of Server Manager and its functionality

  • Knowledge of Active Directory

  • Knowledge of DNS

  • Knowledge of SMTP

  • Knowledge of Network Load Balancing (NLB)

  • Knowledge of Windows Firewall

  • Knowledge of Event Viewer and Performance Monitor
